High Frequency Coils

High Frequency Coils

C. A. Crowley describes the fun with high-voltage, high-frequency coils.  I hope this will provide  a sufficient inspiration for a modern version of this apparatus.  It might make you feel like Tesla for a minute or two.

Hailstones

Why aren’t we killed by hailstones?  Apparently we are killed,  although rarely. This short article mentions the work of John Eliot in which mentions 250 death from a single hail storm in India. It also mentions a severe hail storm in Maryland on June 22, 1915 in which miraculously nobody was killed.

Magnetic Crescograph

Magnetic Crescograph

Here is an invention by the great Indian scientist Jagadish (Jagadis) Chandra Bose, which calls magnetic crescograph.  This article written by Latimer J. Wilson claims that this apparatus can detect “heart-beat” of a plant.  I don’t know how this theory fares with modern biological science. Perhaps someone knowledgeable will care to share her knowledge.
