On January 1st 1922 British Columbia switched from the English system of driving on the left to driving on the right side of the road. Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island remained on the old standard. By mid-1924 all other provinces switched to the right side. Newfoundland was not part of Canada until 1949, but its drivers switched to the right on January 2, 1947.
